Breaking Dawn is Here!

New Book “Breaking Dawn” by Robert Johnson Released and Available on Amazon as of Aug 29, 2025

A Faith-Based Exploration of Depression, Hope, and Healing

Today I am excited to announce the release of my new book, Breaking Dawn: A Drug Free Battle Plan for Overcoming Depression and Anxiety, on August 29, 2025. Yes, after many delays it is finally available! This deeply personal and faith-driven work explores the realities of depression offering readers a powerful perspective on the power of God’s healing work in our lives in overcoming mental health struggles through biblical wisdom, personal experience, and practical guidance.

In Breaking Dawn, I am inviting you on an eye-opening journey, discussing the impact of depression on individuals and society while challenging the mainstream narrative that mental health is solely a medical issue. Drawing from my own battle with depression, as well as biblical teachings, I’d like to offer a message of hope and restoration to those who feel lost in the darkness.

As someone who has walked through the depths of despair, I want this book to be a beacon of hope for those struggling. Depression isn’t just a sickness of the mind; it’s often a longing of the heart and soul. Through faith and perseverance, healing is possible.

With a blend of my personal history, scripture-based insights, and practical tips, Breaking Dawn offers a different, but much needed voice in the conversation on faith and mental health. The book is ideal for individuals battling depression, their families, church leaders, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the intersection between spirituality and emotional well-being.

Breaking Dawn will be available in print on Amazon starting August 29th and digital formats through Amazon, starting on September 27, 2025.

Just a fellow traveler in this journey called life whose been all over the proverbial map. I was a Captain in the United States Army, an internet entrepreneur before it's time, an Actor, a Real Estate Agent, Social Worker, Executive Director of a non-profit, a Production Foreman, Team Leader, Technical Writer, Small Business Owner, and a Quality and Operations Manager. As a volunteer, I have taught, coached, written lesson plans, led small groups and mentored men as a part of Christian Ministry. I currently work with men as a lay counselor both in and out of jail. I am a guy who never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and quite frankly, still not really sure. I like to write stories, commentary, screenplays and a little poetry that I hope will make you think about more than what you’re wearing today, or whether your favorite team won the big game. My wife Jill and I have three adult children and two grandchildren. When I’m not working or enjoying my family, I find pleasure in the pursuit of writing thought provoking stories and poetry about the human drama.
