I have these oft moments,
of thinking “what shall I do?”
My family at home saying,
“we’re depending on you!”
The clock always ticking,
not content to stand still,
a constant reminder,
it’s a matter of will.
But sometimes caught frozen,
I’ve been here before,
To work without passion,
makes me yearn for the door!
Have mercy Oh Lord,
I seek your will in my step,
For my life is a journey,
not a ledger to be kept.
For these good gifts you’ve given,
surely not to abuse,
I desire Your wisdom,
in their effective good use.
If your desire for me is sacrifice,
of all that I plan,
Please give me the strength,
to go on, so I can.
For Your strength is made perfect,
in my weakness that’s right,
Bringing peace to minds chaos,
helping me sleep through the night.
Thus, “What shall I do,
becomes less a debate,
Rather “How shall I do it,”
helps keep my course straight.
And perspective is gained,
when we thoughtfully inquire,
Of the God who created us,
and loves to inspire.
