I woke up this morning,
shocked to find,
I was still asleep,
awake only in my mind.
The world had changed,
to drastically for me,
strange things about
as far as I could see.
Up was down,
and down was up,
before the coffee,
could fill my cup.
There were men in skirts,
with lipsticked faces,
and pets in tow,
in unfamiliar places.
And bad was good,
and good was bad,
awkward I felt,
it made me sad.
So, what had happened,
while I slept,
the world had changed,
and quietly I wept.
Perhaps I should wake up,
or go back to sleep,
not ready to be woke,
thoughts too hard for me to keep.
Like what do I call you,
she/he or them/they,
it seemed so much easier,
when we were all made from clay.
God warned things would get really strange,
when we strayed from the path,
even science can’t be trusted,
since politics changed the math.
But then I remembered,
that all was surely not lost,
because the unchanging Savior,
had already paid the cost.
His ways are not confusing,
ambiguous or unclear,
to all the lost and weary,
His desire for them to hear.
So, as it turned out,
I really was awake,
and all the world had followed,
unwittingly after the snake.
So next time you find yourself,
either asleep or awake,
consider all the choices,
and never fall for the fake.
“Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

This should be a video, brother! Good stuff!
