Just over one hundred years ago, my Grandfather, Alfred Johnson, sailed off for France to fight in what was then called the “The Great War for Civilization,” or the “War to End all Wars.” It is now commonly referred to as WWI, but at the time they had no idea that we would do it again just 20 short years later in WWII, the sequel. During that first World War, the Census Bureau estimated approximately 40 million casualties, that is 20 million civilian and military deaths and 21 million wounded. Aside from that global destruction, the Spanish Flu claimed another estimated 20-50 million casualties world-wide and over 650,000 Americans. People were literally dying in the streets from this virus.

My Grandfather survived them both and here I am to tell you about it. At the time, a vaccine did not exist nor did the technology for a global response such as lockdowns and rapid dissemination of information. The Spanish Flu did what viruses have done throughout the ages and ran it’s course. The general population did not know who was most at risk nor were they fully aware of what precautions to take and yet we somehow survived.

Today, there is a new threat, Covid 19. According to all of our current experts, we have an effective vaccine. We also know that many of us have already had the virus and have developed a natural immunity. Additionally, we know who is most at risk and we know that 99 point something percent of us will not be adversely affected and yet the government is hell bent on pressuring 100% of the population to get injected with an experimental vaccine that has undergone exactly zero long term trials. Though they argue it is now FDA approved, safe and effective and they have run human trials, it is still yet to be determined what the long term affects are because it is literally less than one year old.

So, regardless of which argument you use, logic, science, common sense, or “Orwellian” conspiracy theory, the government’s irrational demand that all of us be vaccinated is, as many have said, irrational, ridiculous, and profoundly dangerous on many levels.

Over the course of the last 18 months I have sat mostly silent on the governments draconian measures, and have watched others stand against the loss of one freedom after another in the governments pursuit of what they claim is in the interest of our personal safety as citizens. I have also watched one person after another publicly shamed and humiliated for offering therapeutic alternatives, workplace work-a-rounds, and reasonable alternatives to increasingly restrictive governmental measures. All the while, I have been full-time employed and relatively unaffected by these measures.

Although disgusted by our governments willingness to subjugate our citizens, I am a family man who needs to support my family and have largely decided that these advances were somehow not my hill to die on. Well, unfortunately, President Biden has recently announced that vaccines would now be mandatory for all employees of companies who employ 100 or more employees’. As an employee who falls into that category, I am now directly affected and yet I find my objections to the vaccine still exist.

I am not, nor have I ever been an anti-vaxer, an unfortunate label that has universally been applied to all of us who have reservations about this vaccine. I am also not in a high risk category for serious life threatening infection, although I do recognize that as a remote possibility. However, it should not matter to others whether I choose to take that risk or not.

You cannot have it both ways, if indeed the vaccine does provide this protection which you speak of, then you have absolutely no reason to fear whether or not I am vaccinated. Your argument for my endangering you or those you love is an irrelevant point if you are truly protected.

Thus, in my risk assessment, I do not desire to get vaccinated. However, this most recently has become a secondary concern as I am now even more concerned about what price we are willing to pay for this presumptive safety.

President Biden has said that this is not a governmental control or freedom issue, but I absolutely disagree.

This is at it’s core, all about control, and not only is it a hill worth dying on, it is quite literally the last hill. I believe the tyrants know that too. Why else would they be pushing so hard unless there was something even greater at stake than merely saving the lives of less than one percent of the population. And I’m not being insensitive here, I’m merely stating a fact.

The tell is in who this concern is coming from. This is coming from the same crowd that is also telling us the world is already dangerously overcrowded, and that humans are the main problem in contributing to global warming.

The reality here is that we are being played. We are told to follow the science, but the science has already determined that natural immunity provides better protection than the vaccine, just look at the Israeli study. Also take a look at the Pfizer vaccine itself which is already showing the need for a booster after only a few short months of receiving the first two shots.

President Biden has shown absolutely no regard for natural immunity, the actual science, nor has he given any credence to the strength of the young who show relatively little adverse effects from the virus.

Unfortunately we’ve come to a moment in time where strength of a legitimate argument can no longer stand against the iron fisted will of an out of control government.

If, we the people allow this final encroachment to stand without putting our foot down, then we can kiss the last remnant of personal freedom and liberty goodbye.

And once again, if you think I’m being hyperbolic, it was just announced in King County Washington, (that’s Seattle folks) that entrance into any public venue after October 25,, 2021 will require patrons to be fully vaccinated per the Seattle Times. And it’s most likely coming to a town near you soon.

Tyranny has come to these United States and freedom is staggering for the exit like a drunken sailor. This is the last hill to die on, better sober up quick, “we the people,” or the American experiment is over!
